Things I love: Earrings

Hello all! Say "hi" to my collection of earrings...

First I hope that you had very merry festive season and that all your wishes will come true this year. As I am sure that this is going to be a great year for all of us. So starting from today, I am going to me more precise with the categories of this blog and I am adding some new series of posts of the things that make me happy. I am hoping to inspire people in the same way that I feel blessed to be able to create and express myself through simple things.

One activity that I enjoy greatly is simple, clean design jewellery. I indulge myself in creating small gifts for the people I love: earrings, simple bracelets and not so simple ones. I have a big collection of hand-made, unique earrings. I prefer the hook type, but I also own a big stash with post ones. In general I wear silver, wood, glass, natural stones and I am not a big fan of super expensive jewellery pieces as I misplace them easily. What to do! :")

What about the design then?

Well, the ones I make are purely my own design using the materials I have and own currently. I rarely buy some specific bead or wire for a single pair (too much funds to spend, too little time to open my dream-shop for now). I focus on cleaner looкs, less bling-bling, high quality materials and reduced use of plastic components.

The materials I prefer to work with include Czech glass, Swarovski xilion beads and glass pearls, Toho beads, leather, felt, copper and silver plated wire, different silver-plated findings. I also have a great variety of hand-made glass beads and semi-precious stones like quartz and amethyst. The most important thing for me is to relax, have fun and make somebody I care for happy.

Someday I want to learn to work with precious metals, but for now this is out of reach for me.

Take care!
